Merry Christmas Movie Review

Merry Christmas unfolds a gripping slow-burn romantic suspense thriller. While some might find the initial hour and a half demanding patience, the penultimate 15-20 minutes are a treat of great entertainment.

Vijay Sethupathi and Katrina Kaif in a still from ‘Merry Christmas’

Vijay Sethupathi steals the show with his splendid performance, and the chemistry between him and Katrina Kaif adds an extra layer of delight. The dark humor, a signature move by Raghavan, keeps you in splits, especially in Vinay Pathak’s brief cop appearance.

The deliberate pacing reminiscent of 80s Bombay might challenge some, but the second half captivates with superb humor, unexpected twists, and turns. The film’s climax and post-credit scenes are a masterstroke, rewarding your patience.

Overall, “Merry Christmas” is a well-crafted thriller that demands a bit of time investment but pays off with a satisfying experience.

  1. The movie is so engaging and has such a brilliant climax!! A literal jaw dropping climax in the second half. The second half was pure edge of the seat feeling. It was brilliantly written and executed.
