Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, this Shah Rukh Khan starrer is all set to release in the theatres on 21st December 2023. It is going to be SRK’s third film this year (excluding cameos) and is definitely one of the most highly anticipated films of the year.

Here are 5 reasons to watch Dunki if you were already not planning to:
- SRK’s charisma: Following the success of Pathaan and Jawan, both of which were action entertainers SRK is back for a comedy drama. The “drops” of the film shows SRK doing what he does best. ROMANCE. Well he is the king of romance, there’s no denying that but he is also a master of expressions and he really excels at bringing out all kinds of emotion.

- The Raju Hirani Factor: Rajkumar Hirani, one of the few directors who has never given a single flop in his carrier. Rather, has had some of the biggest all time blockbuster of Indian cinema to his name. The likes Munna Bhai, 3 idiots, PK didn’t just break and create box-office records but also became “classics” of Indian cinema which are still talked about. Whether Dunki makes the cut to this list is something only time will tell.
- Storyline: No matter how big an actor or a director is, the main hero of a film is always the plot. In Raju Hirani’s filmography that has always been the case. Dunki is based on real-life issues involving a group of friends who use illegal ways to immigrate from one country to another and like any other Raju Hirani film this one too promises to take a very serious subject and present it in a fun, endearing and thought provoking way.
- The Cast: In Hirani’s previous film Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor’s near-perfect depiction of the iconic Sanjay Dutt garnered a lot of praise from people around the world, but one thing which also became the talk of the town in its own right was how amazing Vicky Kaushal was as Kamli. Of course the way the character was written had a big part to play considering it’s not a real character but an amalgamation of three or four people in Dutt’s life, but it was Vicky’s performance that made it so likeable. Vicky’s calibre as an actor isn’t something we aren’t aware of, so don’t be surprised if by the end of the film he ends up stealing the show. We also have Tapsee Pannu and Boman Irani in the mix and this ensemble definitely makes us more excited.
- Great music: Indian movies and songs sort of goes hand in hand. While may not be a defining factor, the music of a film is really important especially when it comes to Indian audience. Nowadays where most bollywood movies are remaking old hindi songs, Dunki comes with fresh and actually really beautiful songs. Be it the fun dance number in “Lut Put Gaya” by Arijit Singh or the emotional ride in Sonu Nigam’s voice “Nikle the kabhi hum ghar se” or the romantic number “O Maahi” also sung by Arijit Singh, Dunki has a really good music album which has all kind of songs.

There is a lot of buzz around this film and hopefully it delivers, but these were my top 5 reasons which I think makes Dunki a must watch.
